ADVENTURES IN GERMANY

From 1999 through 2000, we lived as U.S. expatriates in Nürnberg, Germany, a 950-year-old city located in the center of the Franconia, the northern region of Bavaria. It was an expat experience that changed our lives.

Frank wrote regular email notes to friends and family, (now known as blogging) about our living in a land where we didn't speak the language, customs were unfamiliar and simple things, like shopping, driving, paying bills, were a grand adventure each and every day.  

Note that these were the olden days with no iPhones, no Apple Maps nor GPS, no Google translate, no digital photos, no Facebook, no PayPal/Venmo and sky-high international phone fees.

The last post is 'Deep Undercover July 12, 2000' After that we were busy wrapping up our last few months of work and as many weekend trips to sites in Germany & Austria, etc. that we could fit in.
