Living  in the "Live Free or Die" state (really, it's on the license plates!)  was a dream come true for a couple of midwest flatlanders. 

As the world transitioned to the 21st century, wir sprechen Deutsch, living the expat life in Nuremberg, a 950-year-old city nestled in the beautiful Franconian region of Bavaria.

We eventually returned to New England and landed in the Berkshires where we quickly realized, with all it has to offer, it really is the center of the universe.

In the Covid winters 2021-2022, we hightailed it to southwest, Silver City, New  Mexico  for hiking in the wide open, remote, uninhabited (by humans)  Gila National Forest and Wilderness. 

Traded two New England winters for a lengthy month+ in  Provence. Aix  was the perfect home base with it's laid back attitude, relaxed pace of life and great bus system to easily travel the region!

Such a great experience living like we might be French (which we are not!), we returned to Aix in 2025 dig deeper and further explore Marseille.
